Welcome to the Community of St. Benedict’s! My name is Craig Plenn and I am the Youth Minister at St. Benedict's. To give you a little history about myself, I’ve been in ministry since 1999 and I’ve been at St. Ben’s since Summer 2001. More importantly, I love ministering to teens and working with the adults on the CORE team.
LIFE TEEN is a Faith Formation program for High School teens, centered on the Eucharist, with the hope of, “Leading Teens Closer to Christ”. The CORE and I work very hard at providing a safe, loving, environment for the teens, while keeping in mind our need for catechesis. I hope you and your family will join us at Mass, every Sunday at 5 pm. All teens are then invited to the LIFE Nights after Mass until 7:45 pm.
In addition to the Sunday LIFE Nights, we also have a number of socials and service opportunities each month. We also invite teens to XLT every Tuesday night, from 7:30 to 9:00 pm. XLT, or “exalt”, is a Praise & Worship service sponsored by LIFE TEEN and attended by the over 200 teens. Each week, we praise with great live music, hear great speakers, and spend time in front of the Blessed Sacrament.
LIFE TEEN is not only for teens. We are always encouraging parishioners to get involved, either by helping to cook food for our socials or by joining the LIFE TEEN CORE Team. In joining the CORE, you’d be in a Ministerial Relationship with our teens, preparing the teachings for the LIFE Nights, and planning the semester retreats, held in November and March.
