Parish of St. Benedict

Dear Friend,

On behalf of the Parish of St. Benedict, I would like to welcome you to our website. People search the web for many reasons, and if yours is to seek out a place to call home let me invite you to think about St. Benedict.

Our parish is a Roman Catholic community located in Phoenix, or some may say the Ahwatukee village area. The community strives to welcome all that come whether they have celebrated since the humble beginnings of the parish, or if this is their first experience of worship here. One thing that is a given is that we are a Spirit-filled community that is nourished by the love of our God and sent to bring the Good News of Jesus to the world.

Some things that you will encounter that are integral to our mission are:

Hospitality. All are welcomed as St. Benedict instructs us, “Let all guests who arrive be received as Christ…and let due honor be shown to all.”

Liturgy that is rooted in the table of the Word and Eucharist. Here you will be nourished and challenged to become more like Jesus the Christ.

Discipleship. This is a way not only to give of your resources of time, talent and treasure, but to take up the cross of Christ and follow Jesus’ example of humble service.

Social Action. We are called not only to recognize the poor in our midst, and reach out to help them, but also to be voice for the voiceless to bring about change in the structures that oppress our brothers and sisters in Christ.

We are called to live our faith fully, consciously and actively and this is evident as we worship. By our baptism, we are called to live our faith profoundly and prophetically to the ends of the earth, and to do this we must always be open to grow in the love of our God and be sharers of that wonderful gift.
