Catechesis of the Good Shepherd
“Let the children come to me and do not prevent them; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
Rooted in the “self teaching” principles of Maria Montessori, Catechesis of the Good Shepherd at the Parish of St. Benedict nurtures each child’s natural spirituality. The program, for ages 3 through school age, uses geography materials to familiarize children with the life of Jesus and parables to nurture their desire to explore the mysteries of the Kingdom of God, as well as providing quiet time to reflect and be prayerful. Children begin to see Mass as a gift through their learning about the articles and the gestures of the Mass.
By participating in Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, your child can grow in understanding of our faith, scripture, and liturgy, helping him or her to become connected to the Sacraments and our faith for life.
Cost: There is a fee of $75.
Meeting dates: Please see the Calendar of Events for meeting dates and times.
Volunteer Opportunity: If you are interested in volunteering for this ministry, you may also be moved to a new understanding of our faith and gain a deeper personal relationship with Christ. Volunteers must have Safe Environment Training and complete training for the ministry.
