Parish Discipleship Team

In the mission and vision of St. Benedict Parish, we speak of our desire to build the kingdom of God by fostering discipleship and thanksgiving in ourselves and in our community. Discipleship for us means to follow the way of Christ.

The purpose of the PDT is to foster a culture within the parish that builds relationships through shared conversations with our families. The intent is to get to know one another, to discover what issues our families are facing, and to develop the strategies and resources required to help address those issues, whether they be employment, foreclosure, eldercare, or other needs.

To this end, we wish to begin small group conversations with as many of our parishioners as possible to learn what is happening in their families. This may take upwards of 6 months, and we will need to call upon the leadership of the parish — council members, ministry leaders, and volunteers — to accomplish this goal.

To be “parish” is to be in relationship with one another as the body of Christ. The PDT is a way to facilitate this through a long-term process that we believe can and will aid St Benedict Parish in building the kingdom of God.
We are always looking for people interested in helping us facilitate our meetings with the parish at large, but also need those willing to help plan and implement. For more details contact Suzanne Percy.
