The Pastoral Care Ministry at the Parish of St. Benedict provides comfort and support for families in our community who are experiencing an illness, hospitalization or death of a loved one. Pastoral Care Ministers visit and bring the Eucharist to those who are sick, hospitalized, homebound, in a nursing home, or other care facility in our area. Ministers reach out to families experiencing the death of a loved one though grief support and assistance with funeral receptions at the Church or home of the bereaved. Ministers also may assist with food preparation and hospitality for receptions held after a Mass of Anointing and our annual Mass of Remembrance. Training and ongoing support opportunities for Pastoral Care Ministers are provided.
As a Pastoral Care Minister, you will have the privilege of journeying with families during some of their most difficult times. Serving in this ministry will allow you to grow in your own spirituality, deepening your relationship with God and strengthening the Body of Christ.
