Do you love to shop? Love to eat? Even if you are not one who LOVES to shop or even dine out, chances are you do grocery shop and probably purchase gifts from local and national vendors on occasion. If so, you can support the Parish of St. Benedict or St. John Bosco Catholic School with nearly every purchase by using Scrip.

Scrip is the purchase merchant cards and/or certificates that can be used like cash to purchase products or services from merchants such as Fry’s, Bashas’, Harkins, Walgreens, CVS, PetSmart, Michael’s, Macy’s and 100′s more!

How does Scrip work?

• SJB purchases certificates for shopping, merchandise, food and services, at a discount, from numerous stores and restaurants.
• You purchase SCRIP at face value either after weekend Mass or from the SJB office.
• The discount or profit, which ranges from 1.5% to 20%, is used to fund scholarships at the school.

In addition to merchant certificates, we also offer Fry’s and Bashas’ rechargeable cards.

• St. Benedict purchases Fry’s and Bashas’ cards at a discount.
• You purchase these cards at face value either after weekend mass, at the Parish office or from the Scrip window at SJB.
• The discount or profit (1% on cards or 6% on rechargeable cards) will be given back to the church.

How do the Fry’s and Bashas’ rechargeable cards work?

• Purchase the cards in either $10 or $50 increments.
• Present the card to the cashier BEFORE you begin checkout and add the $ amount you need. For example: If you think you will spend $200 and you have $50 on the card, have the cashier add $150 to the card and pay as you normally would. Once your checkout is over and if you spent less than $200, the balance will remain on your card until your next grocery visit. If you spent more, use your card and then pay your balance as you normally would.
• Do not throw the card away, reuse as often as you like.
