Upcoming Penance Service and Parish Mission

03-31-2019Weekly ReflectionFr. James Aboyi

Dear Parishioners,

Congratulations! We made our CDA goal last week! The recent report indicates that we have raised a total of $ 93,884 in pledges, representing 110% of our total goal of $85,000. This amount is coming from 16% of our parishioners. I thank all of you who have participated in this appeal for your generous support to the charity work of the Church. Similarly, I am glad we are currently on-target with our pledge payments for our Parish Building Campaign. Please check the bulletin for an update.

Parish Lenten Penance Service

I would like to remind everyone that our Parish Lenten Penance Service has been scheduled for Wednesday of this week, April 3 at 7:00pm. We are expecting at least 9 priests from all the parishes in our Deanery to be here to hear confessions. The service will begin with Communal Penance, followed by individual Confessions with any priest of your choice. The Penance Service offers us an opportunity to reconcile with God, purifying ourselves, as we prepare for the Easter celebration. Please, remember to invite your family members and friends to attend as well.

Parish Mission

I invite everyone to our Parish Lenten Mission from April 8-10 next week. We welcome Fr. Bob Gielow to our parish as he comes to lead our parish community on a Lenten journey of reflection and renewal. Fr. Gielow is a Vincentian priest, ordained in 1971. He holds three Masters Degrees, one each in Counseling, Divinity and Religious Studies, and Pastoral Studies.

The theme of the Parish Mission this year is "I'm So Glad I'm Here!" There will be two identical sessions each day during Mass: a morning session at 8:15am, and an evening session at 6:30pm. Fr. Gielow will be available for individual confessions and Spiritual Direction during the Mission. Please bring your family and friends to join us.

Thank you and Remain Blessed.
Fr. James
