Happy Memorial Day Weekend

06-01-2021Weekly Flocknote MessageFr. James Aboyi, V.C.

I wish everyone a Happy Memorial weekend. As we observe the Memorial weekend, let us remember to pray for all those who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty to protect us. Let us pray especially for the families of all our fallen heroes as we mourn with them the loss of their loved ones in the Armed Forces. We also pray for the safety and protection of  first responders and all those who are currently serving in the line of duty within and outside the country.

End of Academic Year

I wish all our St. John Bosco school community God’s blessings throughout the summer vacation and always. The school year came to a close last Thursday and will resume in August.

Daily Mass at SJB Chapel

Beginning on Tuesday next week, June 1st, and continuing through June and July, daily Masses and First Friday Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will be held in the St. John Bosco Chapel. This tradition of holding daily Masses in the Chapel during summer helps to save energy costs.  Please use the gate at the main entrance of SJB when you come for Mass. We are making an effort to continue live-streaming daily Masses while in the SJB Chapel. We will continue to offer Holy Communion for 15 minutes following the daily Mass inside the SJB Chapel. Please note, this location change is only for daily Masses; all weekend Masses will continue to be celebrated in St. Benedict Church, as usual.

Bishop Thomas Olmsted will lead a Eucharistic Procession through the streets of downtown Phoenix on Corpus Christi Sunday, June 6, beginning at 6 a.m. Find out more by clicking here. (https://dphx.org/event/eucharistic-procession-with-bishop-olmsted/)

Have a wonderful weekend and remain blessed.

Fr James Aboyi, VC
