Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament

08-30-2021Weekly Flocknote MessageFr. James Aboyi, V.C.

At St. Benedict the first Friday of every month is usually marked by a special devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. I invite you to join us during our monthly Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament from 9am to 7pm this Friday, September 3. We will hold our weekly Friday Confessions from 5pm-6pm and conclude Adoration with a Benediction at 7pm. In addition to your personal prayer intentions during the Adoration, I invite you to offer a special intention for the success of our Church building plan. The months of September and October are a very critical period in the planning process for the building as we anticipate some significant permissions from the City of Phoenix and the Diocese of Phoenix within this time frame to enable us to move closer to the construction stage. I also ask that you include in your prayers an intention for an end to the pandemic.

Scam Alert

It was brought to my attention that some parishioners are receiving emails and text messages claiming to be from me and requesting favors. Please be warned that these are phishing scams. Please delete such messages immediately and notify the parish office. I would never send an email or text, or even a phone call, asking for a personal favor from you. When it rings warning bells, or when in doubt, always carefully check the email address and photo profile of the sender before you respond. Please, never send a gift card, money or any requested gift to anyone claiming to be me, no matter how urgent it appears. It is important that you call the parish office to notify us even after you delete the message, especially if you fall victim to them. Unfortunately, we have no way to restrict or stop these fraudulent emails or texts. I pray these criminals will repent of their crimes before they face their last judgment of God.

Have a wonderful weekend and remain blessed!
